We like swimming and slides. I like the cottage and the garden. We went to a theam park the boat ride was scary but the other rides were fun. And we went to the beach and we was eating food and there was lots of seaguls and they wanted my chips. A lovely holiday!!

We have had a lovely relaxing week. Very clean comfortable lodge. Toured every day. Just make sure you have 40p for toilets in Whitby. Would definately come again.

This was an idyllic week in early May. Puffin lodge is everything you need. It is so well equipped and maintained you could easily live there! Living and dining room furniture is comfortable as are the beds. Two bedrooms en suite have lovely powerful showers with plenty of hot water. Bedding is crisp and white and ample towels are provided. The heating is set perfectly and we didn't need to change anything, although you could if you wished, instructions are provided. On booking there was an option to have the twin beds zip locked to form a double, this was perfect and one of the reasons we booked. We requested this option, it was acknowledged and later confirmed. It didn't happen and we had to push the 2' 6" beds together and fill the gap with one of the quilts because as a 70 year old I was afraid I would fall out in the night!! The people who service the lodge left a laundry sack with the request that we strip our beds on leaving and place all linen and towels in said sack. Who is meant to be on holiday here? I could stay home and do that! I ignored the request as I had paid the required fee for our stay. I did however leave the kitchen spotless and emptied all bins in the bathrooms and kitchen, which I thought was fair enough. Be warned, unless you are a dog lover! At the end of our stay it was coronation bank holiday weekend and most accommodation was in use. There is most definitely an epidemic of dog ownership, everyone has at least one dog, there was a couple of women with four! Puffin Lodge allows no pets so you may be wrong footed. The swimming pool is lovely, but then I had it to myself! The club house/pub is nice but full of dogs and wine is ridiculously expensive.

We are sorry that your request was not fulfilled but if you had asked our housekeeping company during your stay they would have made up the two single beds into a king size one. The request to put laundry into a sack at the end of your stay was introduced during the pandemic but this may change in the future. Although we have never accepted pets at Puffin Lodge, The Bay is "dog friendly" and so furry friends will be found everywhere on site! Paul and Karen (owners).

Had a lovely holiday. An excellent well-equipped lodge, with everything thought of for a very comfortable stay. A great base for exploring the local area - Bempton Cliffs (we saw some puffins), Flamborough and Filey. Weather not too good but we made the most of it. Thank you.

Wow to the puffin. Proper home from home experience. Loved every minute. Sunday lunch lovers must try the Buccaneer in Filey. Proper home cooked dinner. Alpamare Scaborough is fab for kids and adults. Hope to see the puffin again. Thank you Karen & Paul.

This is our second visit to The Bay, but the first stay at Puffin Lodge. The lodge is perfectly kitted out, right down to the ice-cube tray. On arrival, the lodge was very clean, the beds are comfortable and it's like a home from home. We used the lodge as our base and during the days, explored the neighboring areas. "Trenchers" at Whitby is a go to for proper fish & chips! We absolutely loved our stay. Thank you for such a lovely stay in your beautiful lodge.

We have had a lovely week away at Puffin Lodge! The lodge was spotlessly clean and had welcome packs for cleaning essentials and a drink and snack when we got there. Little details had been thought about (games to play as a family, first aid kit, welcome pack etc) and The Bay itself was a good location. We have already looked to come back later in the year!

A gorgeous place to stay, so relaxing. We've loved every minute. So comfortable and cosy. Everywhere spotless and clean and fresh. It's got everything we needed. Definitely a place to stay. Thank you.

Puffin Lodge is a really lovely place to stay; very clean, welcoming and well equipped. Ideally located for lots of day trips too. The only negative was the sleepers leading up to the door: they were very slippy when wet, which was most days! Other than that we have had a lovely week. Thank you.

We had a fabulous stay at Puffin Lodge, it was very clean when we arrived and there was a welcome pack waiting for us with tea and coffee etc. The lodge is very spacious with plenty of storage, and the kitchen is well equipped. I would recommend this holiday home to families, its close to the beach which was lovely.

We have had a lovely family holiday. The lodge has been perfect for our family with our two young girls. It is well equipped with everything we would ever need. It is well equipped with everything we would ever need. We have felt at home here and it was beautifully clean when we arrived. We will hopefully return to puffin lodge soon.

Fabulous stay in this lovely lodge. Immaculately clean and very comfortable. Really well equipped and will definitely return. My only future request would be to have bigger wine glasses! Beautiful few days away! Thank you.

The lodge was very warm and cosy, we enjoyed the log burner very much. Made good use of the indoor heated swimming pool and had a meal at the pub on site. Nice staff very friendly. Only problem was the wooden sleeper used as a pathway to the side door of the lodge, when wet extremely slippery.

When we walked into Puffin Lodge, we all felt at home and thought what a beautiful, cosy and very comfortable lodge it is. We had a wonderful weekend, Karen & Paul, will be back. Thank you.

A lovely little cottage with all you need regarding cooking, heating etc. Would have given a higher overall rating but found the seating in the living area uncomfortable.

Good holiday accommodation.

This was our second stay at Puffin Lodge and it didn't disappoint. There had been some improvements since last year which confirmed the owners commitment to providing a first class holiday accommodation. Thank you once again Paul and Karen.

Great lodge - love the decor. Great having Netflix however needed a code to unlock. Bed comfy and excellent shower. Suggestions - bread bin, toilet timer on for less and Netflix passcode leaving.
Response from owner: Thank you for your suggestions but we do not have a Netflix account and previous guests have used their own accounts while staying at Puffin Lodge. We will look into providing a bread bin (we just use the cupboard!) and check the toilet timer.

Filey the bay was amazing and I especially loved the comfortable beds. But we could of done with some blankits. Puffin Lodge was an extraordinary beach hut the perfect place for a late night party and chillaxing! We had a beautiful outdoor space perfect for football and bowls. The bedrooms are 100% relaxing. Also quite close to the centre of the bay. From Ted PS on the first room down the hall on the left the words that spell BEACH you can open!

Short breaks will always be proportionally more expensive than a full week but that's the way the self catering holiday industry works!

Excellent in every way! I would give more than 10/10 if I could.

Lovely little lodge and perfect for a little weekend away. It was clean, cosy and had all the amenities we needed for our stay. The beach is only a short walk down a signposted path and we made use of the pool and cafe which was very handy to have on site. We will certainly be returning in the near future (hopefully when the weather is a little warmer!).

Absolutely loved it! We missed all the bad weather and had warm sunshine! Didn't light the stove as the lodge was warm even without central heating on! Lovely decor, comfy beds and great location. Thank you! We'll be back!

Our second stay at The Bay, and again we had a fab time. The Puffin Lodge has everything we needed - with Netflex and Wifi welcome additions. We loved the beach, Flamborough Head, Whitby and Bempton Cliffs - where our 6-year-old dragged us 8 times! Thank you for everything.

I loved Puffin Lodge. It was super clean, warm and cosy and homely decor. A lovely relaxing break. It was great to be able to sit and read in the sunshine on the south facing deck even in March. I like that it was not on the main road so was quiet. The only things I "missed" were salt & pepper, and cooking oil - I cooked in the lodge instead of going out to eat (due to coronavirus, everywhere was shut) and maybe some tin foil? I will definately go back as I loved the lodge, and the location, the beach is about a 10/15 minute walk away. Thank you for letting me stay in your lovely Lodge.

Puffin lodge was exactly as described very clean and all the essentials you would need n a lodge will defiantly be back and already recommended to friends it was beautiful the best we have stayed in.

This is our third stay at The Bay. Enjoyed the whole 7 days. Staff and team are great. Jamie - Archery - is amazing with the children. The beach is breathtaking. We have loved staying in a "beach hut" - beautiful sunshine throughout the day. Only one small suggestion - missed having a "wok dish". Also light in main en suite goes off within a few seconds - may need to adjust timer. Timer near children's room - perfect.

Lovely weekend here, very comfy and warm. A great base for exploring. The local beach is fantastic. Visited Filey, Whitby and Bempton. A great circular walk at Flamborough Head, finishing up with Sunday lunch at the cafe/pub. Thank you.

Lodge is lovely - little bit of brute force required when opening and closing outer doors. Great position for touring Yorkshire and the North Yorkshire Moors. Recommend The Deep (aquarium) Hull. Day trip to York. Day trip to Scarborough and day trip to Whitby. Food - recommend - The Filey Curry House, New Kam San for Chinese food, First Catch for fish and chips and The Piebald Pub at Hunmanby for pies.
Response from owner: many thanks for your feedback. We have instructed a locksmith to visit the property who has addressed the issue with external doors which are now easier to open and close.

Enjoyed a quiet and relaxing week in this lovely lodge which was presented in a very clean and well equipped condition. Loved the interior decor which tastefully depicted a coastal theme. The lodge is ideally located to visit the east coastal region of Yorkshire with most of the main resorts with an hour's drive. Thank you Paul and Karen for sharing your holiday home with us.

We came for my birthday weekend and what a great time we have had. Puffin Lodge and "The Bay" surpassed our expectations. And as for the beach . . . WOW!

We had a lovely stay at Puffin Lodge - helped by the glorious weather! The kids didn't want to leave. Who needs the Cote d'Azure when we've got the Cote d'Az-Yorkshire?!

Thank you for sharing your lovely "Puffin Lodge" with us. It's been an absolutely amazing week with the kids. We've been to Whitby, Scarborough, Bridlington and Filey beach. Also great facilities. Kids have been swimming every day and I've been in the gym every morning - perfect.

Really enjoyed our stay in Filey. Puffin Lodge was well equipped and the WiFi helped to keep the kids quiet. Plenty to see nearby; York, Scarborough, Whitby etc. Weather was great and if wet we used the pool. Thanks Yorkshire.

Excellent, clean and well equipped accommodation. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Puffin Lodge. Visited Bempton Cliffs, Burton Agnes Hall (recommended!), Scarborough and walked to Filey and to the end of the Brig (look out for seals and purple sandpipers). Locking/unlocking the doors a bit like the krypton factor but maybe that's just me.

Came for my birthday. What a lovely break I've had. Everything in the lodge I needed. All clean and of a great standard. Lovely milk, tea bags, coffee and biscuits waiting for me, so I could have a cuppa as soon as I arrived, felt at home straightaway. Lovely fluffy "BIG" towels - just what I like, as well. All in all it's perfect!! 5 star!! Very cosy - can't fault it. Thank you. Could just do with couple throws/blankets to use on colder evenings when sat on patio.

We stayed at puffin lodge a couple of weeks ago, last weekend to say goodbye to the summer holidays and what a lovely place. Turned up to the lodge to find everything clean and tidy, lots to do in the local area and the kids had a great time. Unfortunately the weather let the side down a little bit but it was nice to play some board games with the kids until it dried up a bit. We will definitely be back for a longer stay next summer!

Fantastic! Perfect cottage. Great outdoor space for the kids. Just to the highest standard. We've stayed at The Bay before and this was our best cottage by far!! We loved it and will be coming back.

Thank you Karen and Paul for sharing your gorgeous holiday home - just as per the wonderful pictures, except the weather let us down! However we did get out and about to see everywhere we wanted to. It's a super walk from here to Filey and Malcolm at the Pines Cafe was so welcoming, a great beach for a morning run too! Favourite was Whitby and the visit to RSPB Bempton Cliffs - 2 cuddly puffins have gone home with us as holiday reminders! We hope to come back one day.

What a lovely place to stay for a holiday - very central to explore Yorkshire. Very relaxing. Shame about the weather but we made the most of it. Thank you to the owners for allowing us to stay in their relaxing lodge.

Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful beach house at February half term it was brilliant. We will definitely be rebooking at some point.

The Lodge is exquisite - the photos don't do it justice. It has been beautifully finished with wonderful touches like lights that come on when you open a bathroom door. The seaside theme is carried through everywhere and very tastefully done. It was lovely and warm, even though there was snow on the ground outside. It was a short walk to the beach and along the beach into Filey itself where there were lots of places to eat.

We've stayed at a few places on The Bay Filey, but nothing comes close to Puffin Lodge. This is holiday accommodation of the very highest order. It is superbly furnished, immaculately decorated and pristinely clean. It even had a small illuminated Xmas tree and Xmas decorations to make it feel very festive over the holiday period while we were there.
A big plus over other places we have stayed is that both bedrooms have their own bathrooms; a wet room en-suite in the master bedroom, and a shower cubicle/wash basin/toliet in the 2nd bedroom. Here, as throughout, the furnishings are to a very high spec.
It was lovely to come back to a warm, cosy lodge at the end of a day out, the lodge has HIVE-controlled heating, and was lovely and warm even when it was bitterly cold outside. There is car parking outside the lodge, and a lovely decking area with a table and chairs, a bit too cold to use while we were there, but a great place to chill out on a nice day.
We will definitely book again, and will recommend it to friends and family - it is simply the pinnacle of holiday accommodation.

Been to The Bay before and stayed in different properties. Watched the Beach Houses being delivered and installed. Thought we must try a stay in one. Were not disappointed. Loved Puffin Lodge. Everything fresh and new. So comfortable and cosy. Sun from morning to night on decking. The seaside theme with all the nic naks is lovely. Very well equipped. Must return for a longer stay and make use of log burner.
